Imagining Who We Can Be Together

“If two people were exactly alike, one of them would be unnecessary.”
-Larry Dixon

Honoring Differences through CliftonStrengths® is the second in the 3-part, Different Like Me® Coaching Journey designed for those who want to live and lead authentically in a world marked by change, difference, creativity, and potential.

Through the lens of the CliftonStrengths® assessment, you’ll gain a solid understanding of your own unique set of talent themes and strengths. We’ll explore how these are revealed in the way we process information, build relationships, influence others, and implement decisions. In addition, you’ll gain meaningful awareness of the vast differences that exist for each human being. Out of this emerges a deep appreciation for the value that each person brings to every situation and a greater imagination for what we can accomplish together.

Here’s what you can anticipate:

  • Review and Validate your CliftonStrengths® Signature Theme Report. Working with a Gallup Certified Strengths coach, consider, what does this report reveal about you? Is it accurate? In what ways? What would you change to make it yours?
  • Discover Strengths-Based Indicators to Values, Biases, Contributions and Needs. Through interaction and facilitated exploration, gain new clarity and appreciation of these core threads that weave together to make you who you are.
  • Consider How Our Strengths Shape the Way We Build Trust. Explore the concept of trust from a variety of different perspectives. What do you need in order to extend trust? What do others who are different from you need? What does this mean for you and your relationships?
  • Expand Our Understanding of the Value of Differences Among People. Engage in perspective challenging activities that may significantly shift your way of seeing and responding to the differences in people around you.
  • Experience In-The-Moment Awareness through Immersive Learning Activities. Practice, experiment, reflect and integrate effective insights, in a safe environment for significant impact in your personal and professional relationships.
  • Unlock the Potential of Working and Living Together Better in Personal and Professional Environments. Design specific, intentional strategies to integrate your learning into everyday situations and relationships for long-term, sustainable, positive impact.

NOTE: A portion of the proceeds from Different Like Me® Coaching Journeys are used to help provide scholarships for coaching services to people who would not otherwise be able to access this help.

About Cindy Schmelzenbach

“I am passionate about co-creating a space where powerful things happen that simply may not happen anywhere else!”
-Cindy Schmelzenbach

Twenty-eight years of living and leading overseas with my husband in multi-cultural contexts has had a transformational impact on me. Experiencing the wonder of human interaction and the potential of authentic connection across profoundly different cultures has brought me to deeply value the ways we build trust and allow ourselves to be impacted by the people and the world around us. Coaching and leading a well-being initiative among hundreds of inter-cultural team members has instilled in me a passion for building bridges and breaking down walls that divide humanity.

Now, after returning to my country-of-birth, living in a multi-cultural community and multi-generational household, I am more aware than ever of what is at stake for all of us if we can’t figure out how to navigate interaction among people who are different from each other.

Different Like Me® is an invitation to join me on this journey of discovery. I’m coming to believe that leading with conversational and cultural competency isn’t found in being more influential or assertive, nor in learning to be more articulate or skilled in our communication, nor in figuring out the right thing to do or say in an ever-changing society and environment. Instead, I believe the path to meaningful human interaction is marked by deep intentionality, courageous vulnerability, and healthy humility; by an authentic desire to truly see and be expanded by a dynamic world and an amazing humanity around us.

As an ICF PCC coach, Gallup Certified Strengths® Coach, MA in Human Services Counseling, and Conversational Intelligence® Enhanced Practitioner, I am grateful to bring my experience and education, together with yours, to this powerful group learning and coaching adventure.
